My horse who lives out is very lame this morning. I have called the vet who is coming out to see her later. In the meantime I wondered if anyone has any thoughts on what could be causing it? It is her near fore and she is hobbling, it is weight bearing but won't take her weight if you try to lift any of her other legs. I can't find any heat or swelling anywhere from her hoof to her withers and no sore points to the touch. Does anyone have any experience of a lame horse with no obviously visible cause?

Thanks

Hello,

My horse started to limp on hind leg and turning foot out last a week last sunday, couldnt find any heat swelling began hosing legs down each day, he seamed a little better on wednesday then on thursday he came trotting to me and his hind leg sort of came out to the side, called vet, she spent a good half hour examining him couldnt find any obvious sign o why he was lame, he was muching grass whist shes flexing joints so obviously is not distressed, ordered box rest and Bute, Finished course yesterday, and he still is limping on his hind leg, his hoof is slightly pointing out, got to get vet out again tomorow, but any suggestions????
