Hi

Anyone here that's had a horse witch was lame in front fetlock joint? What was the outcome? Could you ever start riding again? Compete again?

currently he is injected with cortisone direct into his joints. He was much better than the last time and was moving more freely. Next two weeks he will be only walked on longer trails. And then the vet comes to check on him again.

There are many issues that can affect a joint. Your question is a little difficult to answer. I have had horses with hocks needing medicating who competed successfully, but every horse is different and your vet is your best point of reference for prognosis. Hopefully your horse will respond well and stay sound for you. Good luck.

There can be a good outcome, but equally each horse is an individual and what works for one, won’t necessarily work for another. And of course it does depend on what the actual diagnosis is.

Sadly in this case I suspect the overall outcome will not be positive (based on your previous post).

Had the vet come check him again today. He has been feeling so fresh these days!! After almost 4 weeks of riding on the trails with a lot of "free time" outside and days off, he is almost 100% good again. When we trotted in front of the vet he had a lot of shoulder freedom, loose back and was overall more fresh. He acts more like a 7y old horse now. Still a lot of training to do to strengthen his back since the problem lies that he does not use his back proberly cause of the "morning disease" he can get. Still a little tender but its sooo much better than it was...
