Before I start we are off to the vets on Tuesday, and have seen and spoken to my vet a number of times.

I have a 19 year old 15h.1 Arab x who is sound in walk and lame in trot on her nearside hind. The vets thought was that she has arthritis in her hock, possibly her stifle, said to give her 1 bute for 10 days and trot her up to see if shes sound and to work her in walk. Done this and shes no different. We are off to the vets on Tuesday for x-rays and nerve blocks.

She was diagnosed with Cushings a year ago, on 1 Prascend tablet a day, once she was over her first bout of mild laminitis (front hooves) she has been coping fine, acting more like a 2 year old! and no more lameness. She also has a bog spavin on her other hind hock too.

Anyone had anything similar?

An update for anyone interested, its not arthritis. The ligament/cartalidge that should be in between her stifle joint, on one side is inflammed and as slipped out. There isn't any treatment that can be done. She can do light work e.g. walking only, and will be on 1 bute a day to make sure shes comfortable.
