Sian hasn't been right for a few days - was lethargic out on the gallops on wednesday, and not quite right thurs/fri, although not lame. Today he is quite lame, its his right forleg.
There is no heat or swelling that I can see in the foot, lower leg or any obvious injuries. He seems a little bit sore and slightly swollen around the lower shoulder and at the inside top of his leg (armpit?!)
I realise no one can make a dignosis on here, but does this sound like a pulled muscle, or anything anyone has experience of?
My plan is to leave him in tomorrow, if he is worse in the morning I will call the vet, if not I will wait till Monday.
I will also cold hose him and bandage to support the tendons... is there anything else I can do?
I will box rest tomorrow, but Im a bit worried because he doesnt like being stabled and can weave quite badly if he is distressed, i.e. if others go out and he doesnt, so worried this could make him worse... in which case would he be better off out, even for just a few hours?
Any advice would be most appreciated!

no expert but the only time my horse has gone lame he pulled a muscle while being silly in the field, there was no obvious heat or swelling to me, but the vet noticed it straight away. however, my horse went very lame instantly, whereas it sounds like yours didnt? personally i call the vet straight away but thats only because im a worrier! sorry this has prob been no help at all!

A new horse went in the field today so he may have been running around, this is mainly why I havnt called the vet tonight... he may be ok in the morning! I will almost definately get the vet tomorrow (although wary as double call out fee at weekend, work have buggered up my pay so Ive got to go another month without money - last time I got paid was beggining of June!)
On Tuesday my friend brought him in, she is often quite late down so he may have been running around in the field.. I think that must be whats caused it.
the heat and swelling is not obvious at all, could even be my imagination because Im looking for things!
