My horse has been lame on and off for the past two weeks. Vet came out last week and said he was fine (he was at the time) but hes not tracking up properly and I've been bringing him in most nights and he's unable to walk on his hind foot.

Im wondering if it could be something like a pulled muscle. Theres no swelling to look at.

I think Im going to have to go back to vets and get a nerve block.

He was going quite lame after work but that was last week and I've not worked him since then. He has a bruised toe on the said foot but I cant see that being the reason for his on/off lameness. He also wont let me pick out his back feet and when hes lame he walks on his toe.

Has anyone any ideas as to what it could be.

Sounds like he has gravel. Classic signs.

I'm amazed at how many vets miss this. Get your farrier out, and start poulticing the offending foot.
