For the past 3-4 weeks or so George has been on/off lame...
It looks as though its his near fore knee. First time it happened he was a bit lame, so put him in for the night and was fine next day... This happened a few more times (about a week-ish inbetween) and again being fine next day. Me and others I asked advice from just put it down to a pulled muscle and he kept agrivating it in lessons (now stopped till problem sorted) and in the field.
Iv just been keeping an eye on it and not over doing it etc.
I was away with work for a few days and my mum was keeping an eye on him.
While away it flared up again to the point he refused to walk and almost had to walk on three legs. Mum buted him up and next morning he was just as bad if not worse and his knee was very swollen. She rang me and I said to tell yard owner (close friend) and give vet a ring if no better.
So came home and he was all fine again but gave vet a ring anyway and hes coming to see him tuesday as visiting yard anyway.
Then low and behold it starts again today! He's not too lame in walk but very in trot, so put him in with bute. Vet said should be okay until Monday but if gets as bad a before then he'll come out on an emergancy call.
I just have no idea what has caused it or what it is?!
Hes right as rain one day then crippled the next. His feet etc. are fine and pretty sure its his knee but not sure what would be causing it to be on and off!
:
Anybody had any experience's with this sort of lameness? Or can shed any light on the situation?
Mince pies and whisky cream if you got this far!
