He is lame. He was lame Saturday morning, fine the evening before he is turned out at night in school during day.
He was trotting up and down fence line friday evening as there was a new horse who arrived. So maybe he pulled something he is 25 this year. Not ridden at the moment. He didn't look lame when I walked him back. But then I realized he was when I put him in school. vet came friday morning for a health check and didn't see anything in particular just old age, except suspected ulcers He is going to get scoped this week at a horspital. He has a strong digital pulse in that leg, it is quite swollen around the top of the fetlock and above, it is also quite warm. Doesn't look that lame now just looks stiff but still swollen and warm. I trotted him up and he looked quite lame but that was on Saturday so need to trot him again and see. Is also resting that leg alot more. Will get vet out but just want to see what you think? When he has be standing still for a while hes worse but once he has walked round for a bit he is better, lame on a circle. I haven't shut him in stable he is still loose in school.

What is your question? You say he is lame and resting leg and there is heat and swelling. Seems pretty obvious he has an injury of some sort. Only the vet can help with what and how serious following an examination. I would keep him in to rest until the vet sees him.

Sorry if I didn't write the question probably. It is pretty obvious it's a injury I know that. I was just wondering what sort of injury you people thought it was? I meant by stiff could he have pulled something in the field by running around like a twit and made him self stiff! Which he has done before. The vet is coming this week. I didn't write it well I must admit but you people do get on your high horse very quickly ?

How on earth do you expect us to know that without seeing so much as a photo, never mind seeing it in the flesh or feeling it?

Do we? If you think so after 3 months of membership, this might not be the forum for you ?

It's hard to understand the post. It reads as though the vet has already seen a horse with a warm, swollen leg and a raised digital pulse and is unconcerned about this but is bringing the horse in to scope for ulcers. You don't describe any symptoms of ulcers in the post but do say the horse is variously either stiff or lame. There is probably a lot more which you haven't written down but based on this information it looks like you need a vet to do a lameness work up rather than scoping.
