lame pony seeming to try and kick tummy??

My arab x pont didn't seem himself tonight when I went to change fields. He kept lifting up his back leg really high as if trying to kick his tummy, at first i thought it may be colic as he has had this before. But then he also seemed really quite lame whn walking around the field. Does anyone know what could be wrong?? Thanks x
 
The flies have been really bothering ours at the moment with it being warm and damp and one of ours has been doing this sort of kicking alot so that could explain that. As for the lameness though. difficult to tell without seeing the pony
 
Could be itchy tummy, Holly has really bad sweet itch and she kicks her tummy, all the time trying to get the midges off or cos its bothering her.
