Hi

I have a 4 1/2 yr old gelding who has been going intermident lame. the vet diganosed bruised soles, but he was not sure it was that for sure and he had 2 weeks off and recovered. it now about 4 months on and he gone lame again! do u think it relvated or some thing completely different. some days he can get a bit stiff expecerly if he been running around the field? any help??

Also he got some strange lump along his spine that are hard and have now gone sore and scabby any idea?? ive never seen them on any other horse!!

yeah he saw him today and said to wait and c!! im just hopin it nothing serious! he not hoping lame just slightly unlevel

Did the vet offer any advice on the lump on his back or what he thought about the reoccurance of his lameness, if not I think I would get a second opinion .

yeah he does not think the lameness is related as it been a long time since he been lame! but im a worrier im afraid!1 lol also the vet said he thinks his lump is a reaction to fly bits that causes scaring, but he says they dont normally look like they do! they going to be hibby scrub and if they dont get better they going to take a biopsey! just wondering if any one had seen it before!

it could just be the same thing instead of getting the vet out again and costing you double price get your farrier to have a look as they qualified to work from the top of leg to hoof

if your pony does keep suffering from bruised soles it might be worth talking to your farrier about pads. Helped my boy a lot. If he keeps going lame I'd suggest further investigation if you've got insurance because a lot of foot problems are initially put down to bruised sole but upon investigation turn out to be something else (in my boys case he has collateral ligament damage).
