Rode pony today, went on canter track for a good canter. She decided to bomb after our friend, took her in the outdoor afterwards and she was lame on her back leg :(, walking fine just slower in trot. Took her back to the stable and she just ate whilst resting it slightly. We can touch it etc and she will put weight on it.
Presuming she's just strained her muscle since it's been a while since shes gone that quick. Also they've been in all week due to fields flooded but she's ridden 6 times a week and went on horse walker earlier today for 20 mins to make sure she wasn't stiff. Will check it tomorrow and fingers crossed it's better. Old girl doesn't know her limits yet!
Anyone wanna send vibes and good words please do <3

If your pony comes out hopping lame in the morning then it will more than likely be an abcess. If she is just a little stiff and sore then she has probably just pulled muscle or bashed herself. Either which way a few days of quiet walking on the horse walker then gradually back into work would do her no harm what so ever. You know your pony so will know when she is and isn't getting better. Good Luck and I do really hope it is something as simple as above.

Cheers guys. I really hope it is just a sprain. She always lies down when's she in pain or abit off colour so I was watching her with eagle eyes for an hour after we came in. Had three other people check her over haha, she didn't lie down at all and just ate happily. I know she was fine when we went out since she was so raring to go and I always warm up for ages. We have a farm ride in summer so she gallops nearly everyday but now its winter we've been stuck in indoor/ outdoor school. So I think she just got too full of herself. I hope this is the outcome anyway.
Shes also got cushings so it takes her longer to heal with minor injuries.
Thanks for vibes <3
