Lameness and ground

Im nursing my spaniel sound again - nothing serious, he just seems to jar up and cold hosing/restricted exercise sorts it. This is the third time it's happened with the only connecting factor being the hard ground! Is it possible dogs have their ground like horses do?

Vet has seen him and xrayed etc. previously and is sure its just jarring.

Sure, why not? I struggle on hard ground personally when my knees are bothering me.

Meanwhile my old boy recently was limping on harder ground, had the physio out to see him and she found a corn on one of his pads! That would explain why he was sore on some surface and not on others. I never saw it and never realised they could even get corns.
