Just after a bit of advice/suggestions as to what may be the cause of my horses lameness. Had a jumping lesson around 10 days ago and he was fab. However, the following morning when i turned him out he was lame. This appeared to get worse so i got the vet to have a look. Nothing obvious no heat or swelling anywhere. He did some flexion tests which appeared to indicate it was coming from the lower leg(fetlock area). Thought he had perhaps strained something, although did mention the possibility of arthritis, as he is 15. He is on danilon(originally 2 but now 1 sachet a day) and is better although still lame. Just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences and if it would seem as if it could be arthritis given the sudden onset? He has never had any problems of this kind before and is normally a very tough and sound little horse.

If its not showing any signs of clearing up then I would be asking to be referred to Horsepital for a full lameness workup to get to the bottom of the problem.

Yeah has danilon to last till tuesday and will def be getting the vet back as the next option was x rays, etc although was hoping it wouldnt be that serious : (
