I'm worried about my horsey - I took him out for a hack last Wednesday and he kept dropping his near hind, although didn't feel lame, it was just intermittent. I turned him out the next day and gave him the day off. I brought him in and he wasn't right, so we trotted him up and he was hopping lame on the near hind.
When he was stood on the yard I noticed he was reluctant to straighten his fetlock and put the foot down.
He's been on box rest since, but has only been very slightly lame after the first couple of days. I trotted him up yesterday and he's still not right - I could see him being hesitant to put the foot down again (only very slightly) this morning.
What would you do? I've rang the vet anyway and he's going to ring me back, but I just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
There is no obvious sign of pain in the leg, no heat and no swelling and there hasn't been from the beginning.
