Wondering if anyone had any ideas about this?
Horse coming back into work after 3 months off with hepatitis, been taking it steady and doing a max of 20 mins, built up gradually to w/t/c and a few x poles.
For the last week has felt a bit hoppity but no obvious lameness. Until last night. Felt a bit hoppity again and friend said was doing strange dive through with right hind, worse on a circle when ridden into a contact, less obvious on loose rein, got progressively worse over 10 mins of schooling
Jumped off and trotted her in hand on hard and completely sound
Right hind - no heat or swelling anywhere obvious.
left hind - slightly more fluidy around hock but no heat - does have capped hocks anyway
Nothing in foot etc.
Do you think its her back? given that its only prevalent when ridden into a contact?
Any ideas? First lameness in 5 years of ownership (normally colic/hepatitis etc haha!)
Thanks!
