So Buzz is lame :( and unfortunately my vet was called out to an emergency today so had to cancel my appointment and she can only fit him in next week now.
Instead of driving myself crazy googling, I wondered if anyone would have a look at a very short video of him and throw in some ideas of what it could be? I can possibly then change his management until the vet can see him (i.e. he's out 24/7 at the moment but I can bring him in if needed).

I'm so sad for him and I really hope it's not something terrible or needing a long box rest period. He is overweight at the moment but he doesn't have a crest, no raised pulse or warm feet and has been fine walking on the stony paths so I don't think it's laminitis. I first noticed on Tuesday and it's not got better or worse since then really.

Let me know and I can share a link via PM :)

Feet are fine as far as I can see, he's been barefoot for just about 4 years. No heat or swelling on any leg. I'm convinced it's a back leg but I'm not sure.

I'm happy to take a look. I hope it's disappeared before the vet can get to it.

Could you not send the video to your vet to look at? Most vets I’ve dealt with are quite happy to look at photos/ videos and give appropriate advice, especially where they are busy and therefore they can see whether they feel they need to prioritise you or not.

It's not a great video really, but I'll take a better one and see if I can send it over. It's a new vet so i'm not quite sure how they work yet but i'll give them a ring again :) good idea.

Just coming back in to update, x-rays today confirmed that it is indeed hock arthritis :( pretty bad as well from what I could tell. I feel incredibly guilty that I hadn't picked up on it beforehand, poor Buzz is so stoic and I just had no idea that all that was going on inside.

Plan of action is to first get some weight off him (painkillers given as well) then he will have steroid injections and see if they help. If not then Arthamid. I can share the x rays if anyone is interested but they're pretty obvious where the problem is!
