Hi,
A few months ago my horse was kicked in the field (hind leg, mid cannon area) which left a cut that got cellulitis. Soon after this he had to be on box rest for 8 weeks (not because of the kick but because of other reasons) but has now been out in the field for the last month or two.
Last week I began to lunge him again and noticed he was quite lame on the leg he was kicked on and really struggling to trot on it, but only when this leg was on the inside of the circle. On the other rein and in a straight line he was still lame but less so (only 1/10th).
My vet came up to have a look at him and thinks it might be where he was kicked and then on box rest for so long that a lot of scar tissue has formed around his suspensory ligament (there is a solid lump where he was kicked now) although I don't really think he was too sure but is coming back to have another look in 6 weeks.
If the lameness is because of scar tissue is there any treatment for it?
Thanks :)

I think a ACPAT physio may be a help .
Human trained physio's should be very clued up at mobilising scar tissue so ACPAT animal physio ( human physio's who have trained on for animals ) would be where I would look for help .
