My 5yo, 15.3hh Irish Cob mare has been lame for nearly two weeks now.

She presented on Monday 10th very lame at walk from the field (Just moved to full grass livery, typlical!!) no obvious external injury, very swollen and hot medial part of hock. First call was to farrier just to rule out any hoof issues, abcesses etc. All ok no sore spots, so vet was called.
Immediate box rest, (had to beg and borrow a stable!) continued to hose for 20 minutes twice a day, painkillers given and xrays booked as vet suspected a fracture.

Xrays showed nothing, bloods were taken and her SAA inflammitory markers were showing significant infection, IV ab's given for 4 days. Vet diagnosed a suspected peritarsal infection. Looked like she was improving and not walking lame but trotted up slightly lame, she was then put onto oral ab's and 2 x sachets Danilon a day (didn't tolerate Bute as had runny poo) vet suggested to start walking out for 5/10 minutes a day. Started this and within a minute she was walking lame again, so back to box rest :(

She then had an ultrasound scan of hock and synovial fluid taken, fluid looked clear (thank goodness) scan is yet to be reviewed and awaiting results of synovial fluid and further bloods and the SAA markers.

Im feeding her:

AM feed
1 scoop of Scats Alfa A
1 sachet of Danilon
3/4 scoop of D&H vitamins and minerals
50ml of oral ab's
1 scoop on Magi-Ox calmer

PM feed
1 sccop of Scats Alfa A
1/2 Scoop Allen & Page Fast fibre
1 sachet Danilon
1 scoop of protexin (as on Ab's)
1 tsp Tumeric + 6 grinds of pepper
50 ml oral ab's

She has 1 haynet during the day and 1 haynet at night.

I am watching her weight as she is a normal cob and quite a good doer, does her diet seem reasonable, too little or too much? Also looking at a joint suppliment like Devils Claw or Apple Cider Vinegar..any suggestions?

Very, very worried :(
