* Vet is already aware, I just wanted some other opinions*

From this list of symptoms what would spring to your mind?

1. Horse is struggling to walk through mud in field
2. Horse is resting hind legs a lot, one not noticiably more than the other
3. Under saddle horse has felt very odd behind for the last couple of weeks (before the snow and ridiculous mud) like his hind end and front end are from 2 different horses.
4. Occasionally on mounting horse dips back, becoming more frequent

Saddle was checked, physio out, and vet last out at the end of December, teeth were done in November

From those symptoms I would suspect kissing spine or sacroilliac dysfunction. If it wasn't for the reaction to mounting and the feeling that the back and the front end were like different horses, I would suspect a problem in the hocks.

Thanks Wagtail, thats what I'm thinking.
We already have spavins in both hocks, and this is definately a new odd feeling, and coffin joint djd in front. Currently remedial shod (graduated bar shoes in front and wedges behind) which have been working for the last 15 months but as all remedial shoeing seems to be lifed I'm wondering if their time has run out?

Unfortunately hock problems and KS often go hand in hand. Hopefully he has just had a fall in the field or something that has resulted in temporary soreness. Fingers crossed it's not KS.
