Just to let those who offered advise yesterday & today know what the vet said about Mo's lameness.
I trotted her up for him...well, when i say trot, i mean hop! He immediately reckoned it was her foot! So he took her shoe off and had a dig around for an abcess, but couldnt find anything. However, pincer tests showed that she was VERY sore on one particular part of her sole.
So he's poulticed her foot, which we've got to repeat every 24 hours until the farrier comes out on Monday. The vet will come out again then too.
So overall, i'm pleased that that's all he thinks it is. I wasnt expecting that though - i really thought it was something higher up. Let's hope it's not both!!
I feel a really sorry for her as she's soooo sore, but the vet didnt want to give her any pain relief, so we can tell if she's getting worse/better.
Thank you all for your advice - it was much appreciated! And i've learnt what to look for for both spavins and tying up!
