Hi Folks,

Was lunging my mare the other day & i noticed she was slightly lame on her right fore in trot, more noticable on the right rein than the left. I stopped & took her back to the yard but i cant seem to find a reason for it. She's fine in walk, not resting any legs more than normal, there's not heat or swelling in the leg/hoof and have tried tapping the hoof/sole and she doesn't seem to have any sore spots. To look at her it doesn't seem to be causing her any pain, she trotted over to me in the field earlier and didnt look lame, so i'm really confused. Will be calling the vet out anyway, just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what it may be or what to do whilst waiting for vet to visit? I cant figure out how to treat for anything when i haven't a clue what it is!

Have a look at her hoof my horse has faint crack horizontal rather than vertical and its just at the laminae until it grows down a bit further the vet said to expect lameness. It was caused by trauma and ties in with bruising that he had some weeks ago.Just a idea.
