Pony has come down with lami this week, only his second attack in 10 years :(
So back in the stable for a few days then out in his little dirt paddock with a haynet :(
He has been on decent grazing over winter and has been fine but this mild weather seems to have sent lots of sugary shoots up :(
Pony isn't too bad just a little sore.

So after doing a bit of research i'm wondering if there's anything mineral/herbal wise i can feed him to help him once he's over this attack?
I've been reading about Cinnamon :

Anyone tried it?

I went to a lecture at the RVC where they talked about laminitis. The vet giving the talk said that there was still so much that was not know about the causes of this disease. Whilst a lot has been written about different supplements and herbal remedies there is no one thing or combination of things that can stop or help. Although that should not stop people using these. The main thing is managing weight and condition through exercise and diet so that the problem does not arise in the first place.

If you contact your branch of the BHS many of them run talks throughout the year in association with local vet colleges/vets. I would advise you to attend as I found it very insightful.

Mine has cinnamon, I stopped it for 6 months and her crest came back up and she started to get a bit tender in her front feet, she has a large scoop a day with turmeric, yea sacc, psyllium, biotin, copper, agnus castus and linseed meal, but she does have EMS, has your vet said if yours is metabolic laminitis?
