Hello, what sort of field management are you currently using? My cob is out in the day at the moment, hopefully through till March. No muzzle, just keep giving him the long grass a wee bit more each day as he eats it up. In at night, large haynet. Wee dinner, of Hi Fi Lite and additives. Just wondered.He is the only laminitic in the yard( like Little Britain! ) so no one to compare notes! The others are all out 24/7 chomping on masses of grass. Had a few frosts so grass is dead and I know about not putting him out in frost. In Scotland.
 
Our lamintis prone Sec A is out during the day in at night - he is in a bare paddock which we grazed right down in the summer . He is being shown at Bsps winter shows and is clipped and this is first year in 3 yrs he has not had an attack of Lami.
At night he gets a slice of hay , handful of Hi-Fi Lite with his cup of baileys lo cal - this regime seems to suit him.
 
We're still clear over here. Out 24/7, pregnant and no recurrance.

I have 2 laminatis prone horses, they are turned out in a bare paddock during the day and in at night. They have 2 sections hay, hi fi lite and baileys lo cal. They have been clear of lami for a year so seems to be working.
 
Sounds like you are doing a good job to be honest...the coming in at night on hay gives them a break from the grass and gives their systems a break from it. I do that with my cob, who has never had lami but better safe than sorry! The only other thing I would do as a matter of course is to weight tape at the same time every week and that way you can monitor any increases in weight and do something about it before it becomes a major problem.

ATM is he out on the odd day, and as it's our only grazing ATM, and is VERY lush and I can't strip graze it

he's in a muzzle. On the days he isnt out he's walked out.
he has a little hi-fi lite with a multi vitamin at night, and 2 pads of hay at night and then again 2 pads on the days he's in. He's very slowly losing weight on that, but is wearing a rug as he's a total wuss and doesnt realise he's meant to be welsh.

Funnily enough, half the field is long lush grass, the other is short, and he only ever eats the short stuff!
 
Mine are in at night and out in the day. I currently have my 1 1/2ac paddock split in half. One side has been rested since September so is therefore very green and lush looking. I am currently strip grazing as the side they are currently grazing is eaten down and is now begining to poach. I too have been thinking if I need to now let them have the run of the field to spread the wear. I have decided to monitor welshies weight and probably as the weather gets wet again I will let them have free rein. Its been a hard autumn though cause it was sooo mild and the grass just kept coming. Hes never had laminitus and I don't want to start now
 
Out 24/7 but on 1/2 acre patch of bare earth really! 2 sections of hay am and pm, happy hoof am, simple systems and speedi beet am and pm. Looking really well on it and totally sound - very pleasing for a pony that one lot of vets told us to have pts 2 years ago as she was an incurable case of cushings
