My pony came down with laminitis last month and a friend of mine had heard of this lady who makes up individual remedies for your horse based on various questions she asks you (for more complex cases she can come out and give a consultation at an extra costs). The remedy was sent out to me the next day with full instructions on how to give it and within 2 days my pony who could hardly walk was sound, the course which was tailored for my pony was only a four day course (although i am told this varies with each horse) with 10 days box rest then restricted grazing after that and touch wood 3 weeks later she is still sound. Totally amazing, if anyone has a horse/pony with laminitis and would like me to forward on her email let me know as I saved so much money in vets bills etc and stress to my pony. I am so glad I managed to get passed on this information so feel I should pass it on to others.

What was the course of treatment? Not wishing to be sceptical, but would 10 days of box rest say with bute and ACP, followed by restricted grazing, had the same result? You say you have saved money on vets fees, but if a horse/pony comes down with laminitis a vet should be called as a matter of course.

Let me guess...
It was cheaper than 20 sachets of bute?

Good for you for finding something that works, while many are sceptical about things like this its good when they work , its always good when the vets bills are kept down too!!! Fingers crossed your pony stays sound, you made a good call using her!!

i thought it was illegal for anyone other than a vet to treat a sick horse (without a referral??) and i certainly WOULD NOT let anyone other than my vet administer any form of medication or treatment

rest would probably have treated the pony anyway, although it may have done even better if it had frog supports fitted and some bute and acp..?
personally if mine got lami again i would get the vet out anyway, its not worth the risk to give a horse something from an unknown probably unqualified person.
what exactly did she recomend?
