Hi, my mare was diagnosed with laminitis today, so will be changing bed tomorrow, i have bought aubiouse, does anybody use this for their laminitics or would woodchip be better? vet said both ideal but wondered other peoples experiences??? Thanks. (sorry in other forums!)

I used lot of shavings just when my boy was bad! Your best just using whichever you can afford best, as you have to cover the entire floor. My boy has slight rotation (though enough that scared me!) and he's now living out 24/7 and managing brilliantly! So I hope your mare improves well!

The more suppirtive the bed the better, sand is ideal as it supports and allows the horse to find a comfortable spot, but aubiose or woodchips are a good option too.

Is there anyway you could get a small friend for him? My guy loves the sheep he shares with, so even something along that line?

she is normally frightened of things like that, but yes i have thought about it, although not sure she would find it company? she is very highly strung and clingy.
So whats your set up then if you dont mind me asking, in terms of horse & shhep being together? where would i put the sheep/goat etc while she is in stable?

Well at the min we have just moved so he's out in a field, till we build the stable, with sheep and has a little band of about 3 that stay very close and they even take turns to even sleep, I think he's converting them to his herd! If in a stable depending on your yard stable a goat pony or calf beside, if they can't see each other pen opposite? Just suggestions as I don't really know your set up! Hope it helps abit!
