Hi all,

My 12 year old cob x has been diagnosed with Lami and EMS today. Barely any pedal none rotation which we're really glad about but still concerned.
He is now on soaked weighed hay and in a small paddock which is predominately dirt. He is also on bute for 14 days.

Would love to hear your experiences with lami and EMS and getting back into ridden work. I am fully aware this could take a long time and am in no rush to do so, want him happy and healthy foremost :)

There is a thread started about supporting each other through the trails of this. I like you have just had the same news about mine last Thursday. Mine has pedal bone rotation in one hoof so she is a bit more of a worry. Mine is on total box rest at this moment . Vet will check in weekly to see about getting her life back to more normal.
I am no use at linking so have a search you should find the other thread.

welcome sophie, pehaps you could post your original post in the thread at the bottom so we can keep EMS etc all together. There will be more people to read it there and comment.

I have had a similar experience. Can you post a bit more info. please

is your horse shod or barefoot, are the shoes off ATM, are you using boots, what is happening about trimming the feet to the x rays, I would guess your horse is overweight so what has the vet told you to do, has he done blood checks, tests for PPID.

is your horse fairly sound ie can he reasonably walk.

sorry it sounds like the inquisition but easier to discuss the more info there is. :D:D

not sure how far on you are in your lami journey but this is a very helpful site.
