Hi, one of our ponies daignosed mild laminitis mid march - off grass / stabled / restricted diet - box rest 30 days - has not returned to grass but been a bit silly in the menage on a f ew occassions - back into very gentle work. Travelled with companion to show 2 weeks ago and did light exercise but had a pulse in front feet approx 1 hour after returning.

did light exercise on monday no pulse immediately afterwards , harder work tuesday & got pulse straight afterwards, rested wednesday, rode thursday reasonable lightly and pulse afterwards. RESTED FRIDAY & SATURDAY looks fatter today & gutted as pulse in both fronts although not punding.

If not pulse before start shall i try mild exercise again tomorrow.??????????????

It is completely normal to be able to feel pulses nore easily after exercise - just like us when we exercise heart rate increases and so does blood flow to the muscles and peripheral tissues used to move. I suggest you feel a similar horses pulses after exercise to demonstrate this. If your pony can do tight turns and trot in a straight line on concrete sound then it should be fine to ride, if you are still not sure it sounds like you need a vet visit to confirm if things are okay or not.
