hi i have a cushings mare that is suffering with lami at the moment. she has currently had it for 9 weeks now and is still needing 4 danilon a day to stay comfortable. She has had lami once just before she was diagnosed with cushings and she recovered really quickly (that was two years ago). she is in her early twenties and i have owned her for 12 years.
just asking for other peoples experiences on how long your horses took before they started showing signs of improvement as im starting to get a little worried now

Hi - I have an old pony who gets laminitis at the drop of a hat, he's not carrying any excess weight but he simply cannot cope with spring or good grass any more. He is on very restricted grazing, he even finds hay and haylage too rich. Instead I feed half a huge bucket of Hi-fi lite with a scoop of pony nuts morning and night, I've found if I can keep something going through his gut he is much better. Hope this helps x

Do you have her on Pergolide? have you had her feet x-rayd to see how much rotation if any?

Mine had a bout recently (also cushinoid) and he had bad rotation in feet and is now sound after about 6 weeks. Farrier out every 6 weeks, he had styrofoam supports for the first 3 weeks and is bare foot again with Old Mac boots on hard, cobbled ground.

I would speak to vet if on Pergolide to see about upping the dosage.
