This should probably be in the chuff chart but just recieved a call to say a five year old gelding that we bred has qualified for the world championships in lanaken.he is by vdl arkansas out of ballyshan lady by cavalier royale.we still have the mare and his full sister and her filly by cobra.it makes this breeding lark seem more worthwhile.sorry to gloat but this is fantastic news for us.

thanks everyone.weve had the tickets booked for lanaken for months but this makes it a lot more exciting now to be going and watching a horse we bred compete with some of the best in the world for their age.im starting to get butterflies already.he was one of the first horses we bred and we have accumulated a few more mares since breeding him but it shows that every small breeder can get somewhere if they try to breed the best to the best no matter how many times you nearly give up hope in the process.

Brilliant!! So pleased for you, and as you say, a real boost for the small breeder .... But I know that you do think VERY carefully about your breeding, and choice of stallions, and hey, its paid off!!

I'm sure that you'll have a great time at Lanaken, (we did when we went to the stallion open days), and I can vouch for Ken as great company and an informative guide ... Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
