Hi
Im thinking of going hunting this year with the Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Hunt in the west of scotland. Anyone familiar with this hunt? Im a total hunting novice so any advice from anyone would be great.
Do you have to jump? If yes how high are the obstacles? How long does the day last? How fit does my horse have to be? Are novices welcome on this hunt?

Oooo looking forward to any replies as I was thinking of going hunting with them this year - not sure the answers to your questions but a few of my PC mums hunt with them and love it :)

Did a few days qualifying with the L&R last year - it's not 'too' fast (unless you're on a fresh pointer...). Don't know how long they stay out as we usually call it quits fairly early but the jumping is all fine, nothing big and scary at all that I can recall though you sometimes don't really have the option but to jump (long long ways round to gates etc). Not too sure as we always jump but there's not a lot of it to be honest. It's fairly mixed country and some of it's quite hilly but it's not so bad. IF you get out give me a wave - I'll be the one getting carted...
