Land for XC Course wanted... Proposal

Hi

Im wanting to get into designing and building cross country courses.

Basically my proposal is that I provide the labour and tools and you would provide the land and materials. The course would be a basic layout but can be an ongoing project where more/technical jumps can be added as time goes on!

I would be ideally looking for someone in Perthshire but open to any proposals...

Fort William would be possible... I would ideally like something nearer home but its not out of the equation!

I have 138 acres in Lanark. Would be interested in building a course around the field edges and in fence lines. Would need to know how much the materials would cost. We have a timber merchant next door so shouldn't be a problem sourcing suitable materials.

Basically costs all depend on the size and compexity of the course you want. Firstly look at what you have on your land... ie woods, burns, rivers, dykes, hedges etc... Is there anything that can be encorporated into the course? Can any trees be strategically felled? Can a dyke be used? Do you have any old telegraph poles or know anyone that has any lying around?
OSB, ply, 4x2, 6x2, fence posts, nails, screws and wire are all basics that are needed...
Have a think what you have and where you would like the course to run...

Are you intending to use this course yourself or are you a livery or intending to run competitions?
 
Hello there. I am a new livery yard just about to open in 6 weeks. Initially I would expect the course to be used for liveries and private use. I am confident we have enough variety to make a fun course and the ground is mainly free draining so can be used all the year round. We are only 3 miles from J9/10 on the M74 and I would be delighted to show you around. Nicola
