Could I tow the HB510 Double Ifor Williams with a Discovery and 2 horses onboard? What size engine would the Discovery need?
Sorry for all the questions- I have always had lorries and therefore have no idea about trailers/ towing!!

i have a Disco and regularly pull one horse in my hb510 - there's loads of power and I'd def take two but don't know if the type of engine in your Landrover matters. Not much help was that!? Sorry

My Disco can tow a 510 with 2 horses in, although it's not the fastest it can easily make hills etc

It's M reg, 2.5 Tdi

Hi! I tow my Ifor 510 with 2 horses in it (sometimes) with a Discovery TD5 - that has a 2.5, 5 cylinder diesel engine. I love it for towing the trailer - rock solid and enough power. Wouldn't be happy with anything else to tow a big trailer like that with 2 decent sized horses on it.

I tow with 2 horses in my Disco td5. It is an automatic and sometimes struggles on the hills, I did have an old Isuzu Trooper and I am afraid nothing will ever touch it for towing it was fab! BTW I have a Disco cos that was what the OH wanted, I would of bought another trooper!

I pulled 2 big huffas (My boy and Rema's boy) up a very steep hill a couple of weeks a go. It was fine. (Disco and HB510)

A Discovery will do the job fine.....but don't waste your time with the 2litre petrol it's pathetic, you'll need the 2.5 turbo diesel. It will tow well & is the most fuel efficient. The V8 will do the job well but the fuel bill will kill you.
