Looking to purchase a double cab pick-up, but does anyone know if you can get a commercial land rover discovery with seats in the back, my husband says no - thats the whole reason of them!

You can get one and not pay VAT and then have them put in. Its frowned upon though and taxman not pleased if you're busted!

Nope, you would have to get seats put in but you would also need to inform DVLA and Im not sure how you would stand taxwise as it would originally have been a commercial vehicle.
On dodgy ground with that one I think. Maybe a call to DVLA might help?

If UK law is the same as here then your insurance will also be invalid if you put seats in the back.

I might be wrong but i was told that a land rover double cab is classed as commercial! I'm sure of it. I've always wanted one but can't afford it, had to sell my old defender as it was costing toomuch in repairs and had to get a disco!

i know someone who got a defender commercial and done the same thing. Will ask to see if there are any implications re VAT, insurance etc
