I'm just wondering in a everso casual kind of a way how much I would expect to pay for say around 4 acres of land with a barn on it that could be converted into stabling... Based down in the South West area? Either argricultural or equine land (if argricultural I know I would have to apply for planning permission to change to equestrian)

Any thoughts? Are we talking many many tens of thousands? or less. I really have no idea about land prices.

Just had a conversation with my mum about investing in Land seeing as how my brother has pulled out on our joint house buying venture.

Probably isn't really an option though

I Think its about 15,000 an grazing acres, I'm in buying of 10 acres but five of the 10 are woodland, for 100,000 which is about right. No buildings. Have a look on this site where I found all ones we saw and member recommented it . http://www.primelocation.com/farms-estates-and-land/ Remember if it doesnt come with building its a long hual with planning pression, but there hard to come by.
 
We are just about to exchange on a property with land just outside Okehampton - we bought lot one - but lot 2 was 7 acres with a barn with consent for liveries and to keep horses - it sold for £75,000. there is water and electricity to eth barn and it has 7 stables inside - they would only be suitable for ponies as they have been badly designed - but the barn would be big enough for 10 internal stables and a large feed room/tackroom and kitchen. it is a modern portal frame building so perfect as an american barn
 
Land isnt cheap any more. 8 acres with pp for a stable block just went near aylesbury for £165k
prices vary per acre according to the area and the amount of land you want. generally the smaller the acerage the more expensive per acre the land will be. For example my friend paid £6k per acre as he bought the whole 30 acres offered, if he had bought say 10 acres it would have been 10K per acre
 
Oh forget to say you will need planning for any thing but simply horses grazings, putting up partitions in the barn, turning it from hay barn to stables... EVERY BLOOMING THING! Infact even mobile stables!
 
I'm in north Bucks, and Ive just bought 5 acres for £60,000. I thought this was at the top scale, but it's a perfect location for me, a mile from my house.
I have applied for PP....it takes ages......
