Lanterns

Hi we are shortly moving into a new home with stables about 100m from the house. There is a generator for electricity at the stables but I am looking to get a lantern for my walk across in the pitch black! Can anyone recommend a good one to use? I am looking for one that I can recharge at the mains and which may be good enough for me to hang up inbthe stables to shed enough light to not need to turn on the generator....

My advice would be a head torch, as it gives good light and leaves hands free for doing stuff! (From someone who has no lighting at all!)

Never realised how much I want two hands until I started doing things in the dark with a torch - picking out with a torch in your mouth is neither fun or comfortable!!

You can get nice lantern which wind up with LED lights, so you always have light, which is vital, less than £20 for the toughest ones. Google "camping lantern"

Here's a couple of ideas..... the second one is Gas - you just have to get new canisters and not worry about recharging.

Headtorches make you look really stupid but they are extremely useful!

Ah .... but no-one really sees you wearing one because the minute you look at them you blind them with your headlight! LOL!

I have a wind up lantern and can never be a**ed to wind it up personally! But perhaps that is because I am lazy!!
