Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can get a 7.5 inch (yes I said inch) dutch gag bit?

I've looked on so many sites tonight and can't find one anywhere!

Any help or advise most welcome.

There's a couple of places in America that might be able to help you, the postage is usually not as bad as you'd expect so tends to be the cheapest way to go.
www.drafttack.com
www.chimacumtack.com
www.bigblackhorse.com

There are also a few places in the UK that will do a bespoke service
www.abitspecial.com
www.calcuttandsons.com

If you are willing to consider other styles of bit then you may find it easier. There tend to be a half decent selection of driving bits going up to this size which can replicate some similarities of the dutch gag action and may save you a lot of time and money.

Good luck with your mammoth-mouthed beasty!

I had to get my lad one made about ten years ago as none were big enough. Larger bits are more easily found now as he was only a 6.75. With the dutch gags it is relatively cheap as they can use standard 'ends' and as I wanted a double jointed one the lozenge made up the extra width.

Sorry can't remember where it was done but I think you will be hard pressed to find anything over 7 inches here in the uk.

Worth checking out the draft/large horse websites abroad (mainly US)
