Just discovered a large hole in my penultimate GreedyFeeder, after looking online and realizing that they are now more expensive than ever, I'm now on the lookout for an extra large haynet with small holes (preferably 25mm, but will consider up to 50mm for the right net). It must hold at least 8kg of fluffed hay (I only have access to large round bales, so no change of putting unfluffed flakes into a net)

In an ideal world I'd use two nets, but the stable isn't big enough to have two nets in it.

Thanks :)

Shires haylage nets? The large ones are enormous (I put a 5kg slice in and it barely touches the surface) and I wouldn't think much larger than 25mm holes.

Kramer do HUGE haynets. I'm not too sure of the size of the holes but they're fairly small. I bought them to go to camp as we had to take our own hay and with 2 horses on a IW trailer being pulled by a Defender 90 I had no other way of getting hay there. I stuffed them both absolutely chocca, tied them up normally in the trailer (with the help of a friend, they were ridiculously heavy!). One net each lasted the boys 48hours of being stabled. I'm sure I read they can take an entire small bale.

Martsnets. If they dont come in the size you want I'm sure she will make you one up :)

Just be careful of their assessment of capacity. I bought 2 x 7kg/3 ft nets recently and they measured took 4kg and measured 2 ft. I was told that with use they will drop but realistically they have only from 4kg to maybe 5kg so still a lot less than the 7kg I wanted.

They are lovely good quality nets but would advise anyone to go up a couple of sizes.

Agree the shires haylage ones are generous, even the blue/black will fit 6/7kg however all of mine have nose shaped holes where my tb decided to modify the access.

I use the haywell square haynets, they are really big with 2 tapes to hold them up at the top, only downside is I have to add extra string round the openings so the piggys don't just break into the filling side of the net !

i got mine from local tack shop the tag on them read KM elite
i like them that much i went back and brought more (have 10 in total now!)
i will them ahead of time
they must hold at least 12 kg of hay and i need hay of a round bale :)
i can take a photo of them if needed (some one will just have to remind me how to upload!)

Shires red and black are the biggest I’ve found.

These are by far the biggest I've found. Holds 9.5kg or thereabouts with 1.75" holes. I've just sold two virtually brand new ones as they were too large for my fatties. I now have the blue and black ones which are a better size for mine.

I use exactly the same. Also, the newer large size of greedy feeder doesn't come up as large as the old ones. But yes they have got expensive. So also looking for a replacement.

Marts nets are super quality but they did make his nose sore !

The big Shires one, it's red and black I think, is quite small holed, it slows my horse down considerably.
