Larger fly rug

Any recommendations for a fly rug for a fairly bulky warmblood?

Rambo vamoose sweetitch hoody and Rhinegold Zebra rug are a bit tight though long enough.

I don’t think he’s quite chunky enough for a big horse fly rug.

XL Rambo vamoose sweetitch hoody seem to be universally out of stock in 6ft6.

As he’s out 16 hours a day, I’d like something spacious or stretchy on shoulders and withers when head is down.

Any suggestions.

I’ve just bought on offer from Hope valley a Rambo Optimo for about £65 plus post
It’s good for a wider chest. My horse doesn’t look on first glance wide but evidently is as several rugs have been tight on his chest.
Edited to say mines not an XL type either. He would be a very light weight cob, we have had bigger TB’s on the yard I work at

I've got a big wb, he is retired now. I bought him the aussie all-rounder and I'm really pleased with it. Fits him really well.

No. He’s 6’6 in everything I’ve bought him so I got the same size and it’s great.

He’s 6ft6 in Rambo generally. But so was a past horse but he was 6ft3 in the Rambo Optimo turnout. I thought Rambo optimo turnouts came up very big.

I'm amazed that you think 6'6" is large....feel my pain with my 7'3" wearing girl.

ETA - Shires seem to fit both my horses well, wash well and last relatively well.

I don’t think 6ft6 is large per say but the fly rugs are too tight for his width / bulk. Despite being the right length. Going longer doesn’t fit right.

Yeah I think they are odd sizes. I have a cob but he’s narrow, as In the space between his from legs, am Optimo is huge on him. This horse is much finer but has a wider chest.
Hopefully that works out for you, it’s a nice rug if so!
