Hello Guys,

My 6 year old ISH is due to be PTS on Friday due to Kissing Spines and Suspensory damage. He is awfully unhappy and grumpy all the time which is why I have come to this heartbreaking decision as I believe he is in pain.

I have tried everything in my power to make him happier, but nothing has worked so just as a last final step I would like to find a whisperer/listener to have a look at him to see that there is anything I have missed

Can anyone recommend one in the west midlands area that they have had experience with? I have never used anything like this before so am at a loss on where to look!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can not be of any help, but just to say how sorry I am and bless you for trying so hard for your horse, know how you feel as my horse has a lot of problems and I am trying to help him! x

Hello,

Thank you for your replies to my post.

Paddy & Dandy - Sorry to hear about your horse. I have had a look at Jackie's website, have you had her to see your horses?

Is she very very expensive?

Pines of Rome - Thank you for your kind words. It is a truly rubbish situation :'(. I hope that your horse get better for you.

So sorry to hear of your sad news, & well done you for putting your horses well being first - the bravest final gesture a loving owner can give.

I was in a similar position when my TB was going to be PTS due to a huge inoperable & badly placed sarcoid (as well as others) & saught a reading from a trusted friend who is an AC (although she doesn't do it professionally). It gave me peace of mind to be told how he felt (she told me he thanked me for all my care, that he didn't quite understand why i was so upset, but he trusted my to do right by him) & although there is always an element of doubt regarding this kind of thing, & i greatly needed & appreciated those kind & comforting words, i'd never put aside my vet's decision or advice - that will always come first. In this case however, my boy got a reprieve -the sarcoid was so aggressive, it outgrew it's own blood supply a few days before we were due to say goodbye - he's still here xx

It would be amazing if you could experience a similar miracle, but be strong, if you've taken your vet's advice & you trust him/her, you are doing the kindest thing. xx

Hi, yes I have used her (via sending a photo by email, them speaking on the phone) I think it was about £50, I don't know how it works, all I can say is she gave me an explanation for certain behavioural problems I had with a very talented but ' quirky' horse I had at the time.
I am considering using her again with my current horse, I just need to get myself organised!

Please don't anyone knock me for using her, at the time it was a last resort, however it worked for me, and meant I was able to get the best from my quirky mare, then find her a lovely home with people who could manage her.

Oh crikey!! Just found an old thread by said person, asking NOT to be recommended on here. :( I'm really sorry, I wasn't a member at that time, so was unaware. I don't know how to get the post edited now to remove the name. :(

Very sorry about the situation you are in, you must be heartbroken.

Whilst I understand you want to try everything possible in the best interest of your horse, I would be very wary of going down the route of 'communicators' etc, given that your horse could be in pain or suffering. Minds could easily be swayed if things are said which may indicate your horse is not in any pain, and at the end of the day, these people are not qualified vets. I would stick to what your vet feels about the quality of life your horse has, or maybe get a second opinion from a different vet just to be certain.
