Just wondering whether other people who keep their horses at home / run their own yards help bedding and feed delivery men unload the goods. We had some paper bedding delivered today and my back was playing up so I didn't help but feel a bit guilty.

Also, do you always offer them a cup of tea / coffee?

Yeah I give them a hand if I'm there! I'd feel a right cow if I didn't!! Tea & Coffee, no I wouldn't offer it, would have to try and have a conversation then and they are usually in a hurry anyway.

Always, they're doing me a favour by me not having to collect it! Also yes to tea or coffee especially if it's hard work (straw, heavy stuff) cos I'll want one too and it's a way of getting the gossip doing the rounds too!
We had one chap bring shavings and rubber mats on the same load; two minutes after he came, the feed man came and he had a little pallet truck on the back; a quick offer of either a cuppa, some wine or sex - but not all together! - soon got them all unloaded and we had a laugh - but no sex, he took the wine for his wife!

I deliver feed and bedding...to be honest more often than not you can unload a lot quicker on your own unless it's a huge amount of shavings or something but then i usually take someone with me. As for a cup of tea...maybe people round here should take a leaf out of your book not sure i've been offered one in 5 years!!!!!!
