Finally got my head round P14 and P18, put Lottie through the trauma of being plaited, cleaned all my tack, and packed the lorry.... and then dressage was cancelled last night. Grrrr.
I have family commitments all weekend so no horse tme at all. (My OH's 50th birthday weekend with family. One of 3 weekends dedicated to the cause of 'celebrating' being Officially Old. In his words.)

Lottie is doing a 20 mile endurance ride with her sharer.

I'm off to represent our riding club in a ODE tomorrow, a very last minute decision to to fill in on the team as friends horse is lame, slightly apprehensive as haven't done any ODE's since before covid and no dressage test practice really in last few months, But, going with the mindset of no expectations and trying to keep my nerves in check :)

I'm also doing 50th celebrations - not mine yet thankfully but I feel about 110!

Lottie is a star. I love how she'll turn her hoof to anything with you and your sharer. She was a great find.

No idea horse-wise this weekend. I want to get in some fittening hacks but we had heavy rain again last night and the bridlepaths are so, so boggy.

Yes she was a great find. Not bad for an 'unseen from Ireland' punt. Sheer luck rather than any kind of judgement. She is fab.

Dima is finally feeling a bit better, hoorah!
I rode him in the arena yesterday and he felt like himself for the first time in 2 weeks.

We are meant to be having a go at side saddle tomorrow at a clinic but I'm undecided whether to keep him just hacking this weekend.

Small Welsh pony is meant to be going to his 1st in hand show on Sunday but we are forecast thunder storms! So will play that by ear.

Then Sunday night I'm off to the big smoke to see my sister's new flat in London and back home Tuesday in time for Dima's physio appointment- no rest for the wicked!

Good luck to all those competing this weekend and I hope that the weather doesn't ruin everyone's plans.

Jump lesson tomorrow and then horses first Elem Monday. It's a local UA so a nice low pressure outing for his first one.

was that after yesterday's rain? I practically swam the microcob down our bridlepath earlier this morning

Yep- we did have a lot yesterday, I went SJ training and half the arena could have been marketed as a water treadmill 😂
But it's so frustrating as the horse is fit, well and super keen to run, plus he is jumping like he's on springs, and you just don’t know how long you can keep them like this. He won’t be able to run again for another 3 weeks and that was supposed to be his upgrade to the next level. And now I don’t know what to enter!

My baby pony is continuing his education so he hacks out twice in the week with his trainer then on the weekends I do some long lining with him.

Last week we went around the yard and down to the car park. This week I want to try to do a full lap of the yard and arenas. It should barely take 10 to 15mins but we aren't doing very much. He's not 4yo until the end of the next month and only came to me and this yard 6 months ago.

No need to rush.

My friend paid for all her daughter's BE fees for this year and they haven't managed to get out yet. After last year's heatwave and not wanting to run an older horse on hard ground she's tearing her hair out.

I sympathise with you all. Even the happy hacker is not happy when she can't make it down the bridlepaths!!

We competed Tuesday so not last weekend or this weekend. Last weekend there were lots of shows on, this weekend nothing. Good luck to everyone out and about whether horsing, partying or just chilling.

For once I can join this thread, going to York tomorrow with my sister to see Strictly Ballroom the musical, it's been booked since 2019, but kept getting put back due to covid!
Then hoping to have a little hack out on one of the mares, I have entered her for the breed show in hand, so she'd better do a small amount of work before next weekend. She has been on maternity for the last 3 years 😁
Good luck to everyone competing , weather on Sunday looks pants 😐
