Clocks change! 😢😢😢
I've got a riding club clinic tomorrow - 1xflatwork & 1x jumping lesson - on an underworked hooligan due to jury duty.

I also need to find time to clip the woolly mammoth of a native pony. I hate clipping - makes me sneeze and I can never get it equal on both sides.

Feels like winter has turned up this week too. What's everyone else up to?

that clinic sounds ace!

me & lily are back between the boards tomorrow, just an intro test but it’s a new venue for lily so it’s more about not inserting any “spook at x exit the boards at c”🤣

diva is getting clipped today, she’s been getting warm just standing in the stable bless her!

Oooh, I'd forgotten the clocks were changing! Yay for an extra hour in bed, boo for more dark nights.

I am having a horse vetted today so, if all goes well, then will be picking her up on Sunday!

Envious of people getting out training, but yesterday was the first proper wintery day with us so also glad I'm mostly inside!

I'm picking up a bridle this afternoon for our newboy and although I don't have a saddle yet (fitter coming next week) I'm hoping to get out for a short bareback hack on sunday with a friend. It could be interesting! We've got a lot of fencing to do at the field to prep the winter grazing and clearing the hardstanding area of all the acorns now they're pretty much all fallen in readiness for the first round bale being delivered in a fortnight.

I met a lovely couple, Mike and Fiona Powell, on holiday earlier this month who compete and organise a lot of indoor driving in Norfolk area.

Hacking for me. Was meant to be jumping today but pulled out as all competed out and just want to chill with my horse for a while.
They are indeed lovely, they run both norfolk and essex for us, I have the disappointment of them both on video during my screw up at nationals 🤣

Oh do say hello. I was discussing event organisation with them as was organising a BRC qualifier whilst on hols. They are also excellent windsurfers!

I'm going to have a pamper weekend with my two boys - Rabbit will possibly get a bit more bridle training thrown into the mix whilst grooming, and Baggs needs a thorough grooming session as he's furry, muddy and looking semi feral aha!

I'd love to go for a ride but Baggs needs new hoof boots and my podiatrist can't get out for another week or so.....

i think you won for most exciting plans so far!! good luck!!

I’m just pointlessly sharing because I am mega excited!

One actual horsy plan: taking one of the lads to the water treadmill today - we’ve been doing bits of groundwork etc and this over last few weeks after a summer of being potatoes while our arena is refurbed.

Buttttt… the exciting bit!!!
Our arena refurb is so nearly finished, in fact the last load of sand is being delivered as I type. Still need to finish fencing and get fibre mixed in, but we are almost done 🙌

Glorious @sheep !!! Look at her!!! 😍😍

Thank you!!

We were very lucky that there was an arena here already, but the surface was more or less dead and it all just needed a bit of love. Thankfully the original layers of stone had been done really well, but we put new drainage in and dug out some of the corners - it’s a very rocky area so that took rather a lot of drilling 😂 I’m sure the neighbours loved that.

Hopefully be ready to use by next week!!

We had a great little lesson tonight did some reasonable almost grown up canter transitions without anxiety, acrobatics or forgetting how to trot in a straight line afterwards. Working on lengthening the trot steps a bit and taking the contact forward and down a little which she does find hard but I can see her posture improving for the better. Should take some pictures 🤔

Had a lesson today and have another lesson at other RS tomorrow. Been doing my sports psych this week and had physio yesterday which should help. Last lesson went quite well, just keep losing the engine. Probably still a niggly thing in my mind not truly riding forwards.

I'm considering restarting the 'brief lesson reports' (that weren't always very brief) that I did yonks ago.

My sport psych is asking me to work on developing 'assertive SPD'. It's not my natural state of being and I really feel like the riders I look up to that are confident, are just 'built different' but I'm assured it's possible to learn.

It did make me think of this which, if nothing else, made me chuckle multiple times in my lesson today when I got nervous and remembered I was supposed to be doing assertive instead.

another little update from me because i’m just so chuffed with her…a few spooks and wobbly moments but i can’t complain with 3rd out of 8! i so hope the photographer managed to get a nice pic of us in a less wobbly moment🤣 im pretty sure this is her first frilly she actually earnt, rather than just because there wasn’t more in the class😂

Horse failed the vet 😭. Might take the winter off and save myself a fortune. Anyone have any idea what people do when they don't have a horse?!

Whatever that storm is in the north sea scuppered plans to have a first Quadrille practice ( 50mph gusts and torrential rain).

Hopefully drops over night so giving it a bash in the morning. Joys of outdoor training through the winter!

We’re competing tomorrow - hoping to get our final score for AM areas and some points towards Medium regionals.

The most exciting thing this week was an article in H&H! We won our AM class two weeks ago at a lovely local venue. I was very surprised to get a call from a H&H journalist and thought there’d be a line or two about our win…there’s actually a photo and a whole article about Sammy and me! Really pleased that they also mentioned his lovely owner, my fab trainer and Sammy’s breeder 😍

Its only been 4 years for me and I genuinely don't remember 😂 Netflix and alcohol????

Sorry this one wasn't for you. It will be when its meant to be! 💕
