When I think how much you sweated for the poorly boy, and how well he's has come on!
I spent a long time looking at your blog just now, and it's a delight to see such well cared for and happy horses.

He has improved hasn't he?
Thanks MM, the horses are happy all right tho it's a struggle to keep on top of things like foot trims and chopping their manes and tails when they live such a natural life..
We have the farrier coming for a mass field trim again next week but some of the devils leg it at the first sign of him and miss out until the following time, plus handling the youngsters sometimes means they aren't that brilliant to trim the first few goes anyway.
We are trying to keep on top of the feet this year as apart from that they don't look too bad at all.
Next job is rugging some up ready for the winter, we try to leave it as late as we possibly can because once they get those rugs on, they don't come off a lot, we just adjust and look under them, changing a rug on a horse in the middle of thirty odd others isn't easy, and they become very herd orientated, remove them from their friends and they get upset.
It's been cold at night here but not wet, and they are already feeding from haylage bales within the two barns.
Next week we have several being gelded, 6 microchipped , lots of tet boosters and a small hernia op; it's going to be all hands on deck that day, especially as we have to remove six from the main herd back down near the farm.
It can be a bt like round up at the OK Corral here at times!
