Late cut dog

We have recently re-homed an American Bull from Dogs Trust . We are experienced large breed owners and our boy is the most gentle , kind dog we have ever owned.
However , he is 9 and was entire until last November . How long will he still be interested in girl dogs ?
He doesn't try to mount them or have an erection but he's very excited when he see's a lady dog.
Any advice would be greatly received

He is not aggressive towards them , just waggy tail and wanting to say hello

Is it a dog/bitch thing then, or just a friendly dog? Does he have same-sex aggression? If not then I wouldn't worry overly.
