My mare is due to foal in mid August I never planned it to be so late it is just the way things turned out for me and my mare, I was just wondering how many posters have mares yet to foal this year.
I feel a bit left out with all the foal piccies and cannot wait for mine to arrive, as I am now getting quite nervous about it all, this will be my first foal ever and have found the breeding section on here very helpful.

So who,s foal is due last this year on the forum.

We do not have any due but we did have a mare foal in late Spetember a few years ago. The time of year did not seem to make a difference. He is now 16, where do the years go?

Good luck. Sadly i don't have the excited anticipation of a foal but i do with my daughter expecting twins, as well as the worry!

I would secretly loveto breed horses but i would not be able to part with any:eek::D so i steer well clear.

My little mare has yet to foal but I am hoping it will be in the next week...although I've been saying that for a number of weeks now!!

We got her and her yearling filly at the end of April in really poor condition, the seller said the mare was in foal and due end of May or maybe beginning of June. In reality I don't think she had a clue...she had just been running a herd of Shetties and Sec A's semi feral on the moors...anyway much consulting with vet and Maud (the mare) and Izzy (yearling) are now in much better condition so now we are just awaiting the arrival of Izzy's little brother or sister. We keep getting the vet to check on Maud's progress, her udder is really big now but not waxed yet, although I know they can foal without waxing.

But hopefully soon I will have foalie pics to post too, we have no idea what is going to come out...Maud is a black Shettie 34/35 inches and Izzy is chestnut and obviously has a sec A father (she has a v.pretty Welshie head). We don't know if this one's father is a Shettie or a sec A!

lina is due on the 22nd of July ! although she's all bagged up and her back end has softened plus her bump has shifted underneath her belly now rather than out to the sides so I'm just waiting for some signs of wax and then I'm off to PANIC !!!! Seems like an endless wait

our's is due 25th july, she is getting bigger by the day though its all out to the sides and hasn't dropped yet. she is bagging up now as well. This is our first foal so it is all new to us!

I am on foal watch at the moment. The maiden mare I am looking after is at 318 days (if the stud got the dates right!!) and has been bagged up for about 3 weeks. She has every sign of being ready apart from wax. I think every night the foal is going to arrive and every night it doesn't, I am exhausted! Fulltime work, extreme heat and foal watch do not go together

My boy was born in October and it hasn't made any difference to him whatsoever. He just looks immature in showing classes compared to others born the same year.

If this heat carries on you will more than likely have to supplement grazing with plenty of hay as you will have well and truely missed the spring grass...

So far no foals later than mine then ?, I had a coloured cob and his passport said he was born in december. Also my friend bought a w/b type mare who was believed in foal, by the end of summer there was nothing although she looked in foal, she eventually foaled in november.
I must be honest my mare looks further gone than she is due to the fact she has had several foals before I bought her, and is on the older side. But she as so far sailed through pregnancy and is blooming, her coat is the best I have ever seen it.

My mare is 342 days on 7th august. Had some real worries in the pregnancy- swelling around udders on 24th april. Double dose regumate, finadyne and ab's since then all is looking good. She had a final scan today, fluids looked good and foal in position. She had a bag with a bit more to go, backend going wobbly.

Caslick undone today she is now 304 days and enormous. I expect her to go in two weeks ish.

Good luck with yours xxxc
