I am sure there are lots of people on this forum who are liveries or livery yard owners - so would welcome your ideas.

We are nearly ready to open a new livery yard with good facilities near Hereford, and want ideas for publicising it. We have started to advertise on Hereford Equestrian - that would probably be our best local website (may try H&H later as well) , and will advertise in local tackshops and feed marchants. And I have set up a website and facebook page.

But I wondered if anyone else has also tried things like open days to launch a new yard? I was thinking perhaps an open day in aid of our local hospice, and we could do coffee and cakes, and perhaps run clear round showjumping to show off our new school.

So any other ideas or feedback would be great. We want to attract people to come and visit us, without any obligation, nothing too formal....

Thanks for both of the suggestions, hadnt heard of ******* so will take a look. And liked the idea of inviting local riding clubs to look around, we could combine that with an open day. We should be good for them as a possible venue as well as very accessible off an A road and plenty of parking... anyway, thanks again, will plan some dates now we are ready to open - it all takes so long but want it to be finished before we show it to people properly.

Hi - we are in Bartestree near Hereford, called Stalls Farm. If you look on Hereford Equestrian under Livery in Herefordshire you can see our advert - but do get in touch if you would like to visit us any time. Will also PM you contact details...

How exciting opening a new livery yard. I think the idea of an open day is a good idea although be prepared to get people who just want a nosey as well as those interested in livery.
As others have suggested advertising on Preloved, local tack shops and inviting local riding clubs. Contact your local radio station and newspaper they may give you a mention/run a feature.
Good luck in your new venture.

Thanks for the sugggestions, all good ideas - have managed to find quite a few places to advertise both locally and online. And also planning an open day later in June so will see how that goes.
