Are laurel twigs poisinous to dogs? We were trimming our laurel to keep it away from the horses paddocks, then noticed our hound pups chewing on some cuttings.....should I be worried?

I have cleared up any debris now, so they won't be able to get any more.

I found this link..

It says laurel in large quantities can be harmful,so if they didn't eat a lot, they ought to be ok. I'd definitely keep an eye on them, check for any pupil dilation, drooling etc...then vets if you are worried.
Over here bay laurel is commonly used as a tissane( boiled leaf tea) to treat stomach aches...was this tree a bay leaf laurel?

Thanks so much for that - you are very kind.

No I think it is a cherry laurel, but will google bay leaf laurel to compare.

Thanks again.
