Lavondale Stud, Chalk Lane, Epsom - anyone know it?

not under it's current management - used to be a rented racing yard and was nearly lost to the developers
although chalk lane is notorious for the horse stuff being nicked from round there - too many fields with stuff in and a lot of light fingered people

also comes of being rather ancient and living in the area since 1962 ;-)
Interestingly the place down there is the original home of Lord Rosebery and there is a pillared indoor school (or was - it was under threat of demolition) that is very historic. The stables were part of Lord R.'s estate and it was that estate that was trying to milk the place for development and got all the locals up in arms
