Does anyone have any information on this? What goes on/ is expected of the horse/ Age/experience classes etc...

Sorry, don't have time to do full explanation atm as am at work, but Tack Farm EC are doing monthly Trec trainings with a comp in March - it might be worth getting hold of them.

Trec is great fun, def recommend you give it a go!
