Bruno, our new jrt is settling in well
He's a little monster but is quickly learning the rules, like going outside to the toilet and not on my feet! Hes eating well and loves cuddles, went to sleep in my lap for 2 hours this afternoon.
He adores tennis balls and things to rag around as well and loves his food and goodies!
However, on walks he tends to chew on his lead. It mainly happens after we've stopped to cross a road (teaching him to wait is going quite well!) and I've given him the lets go signal he grabs the lead and pulls.
If he does grab the lead, I go "Ah Ah" and stop and wait, I don't pull back and make it into a game, I just wait and as soon as he lets go, he gets lots of praise and we carry on walking. Hes getting the idea but is there anything else I can do?
He does walk nicely on the lead other than this, not exactly to heel but no pulling or trying to run away either.
