I am MrsElle by the way, just in case I show up as someone else!

Blue is 2.5 years old and leads really well. Since moving to livery though he is getting to be a right swine. Tonight he practically dragged me back to the stable (and tea) and left me puffing for ages (asthma). I bring Blue and Ellie in together usually, Ellie walks calmly and nicely while I am hanging on to Blue. He does the same if I bring him in alone either before Ellie or after.

Is it worth leading him in in a bridle to see if that holds him back a bit? Will have to do a bit of work at the weekend to remind him of his manners, but until then is the bridle the way to go?

i would use a bridle or chifney or rope over his nose til he remembers his manners! i would also lead him in on his own (i know its a pain doing 2 trips when you could do 1)but at his age he needs the attention and reminding of manners! i would also introduce some halt and waits into the regime! Horses and ponies are too big and strong to learn oneupmanship and he is the perfect age to learn to be nice. one of mine went through the terrible 2's, chifney hard hat and lunge rein he is now perfect at 4, 17 hh and still!! oops! growing. Persevere as it is worth it in the long run.

Bridle or a control headcollar.

My 2.5yr old breifly decided he didn't have to walk politely along side me anymore and took to bouncing all over the place and trying to drag me off in the direction he chose

So he was lead in his bridle for a week and solved the problem.

He now tries trailing behind, sulking, instead
